Rebecca Ruszkowski Bruton, 50, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Methodist Medical Center. She was born July 1, 1959 in Oak Ridge, the daughter of Albert Stanley Ruszkowski and Elaine Marselle Poe Ruszkowski, who are both deceased. Mrs. Bruton was a registered nurse and retired from East Tennessee Pulmonary Associates. She attended the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling and the companionship of her three Pugs, Biscuit, Jezebel and Bubba. She is survived by Husband, Dr. Charles W. Bruton, Jr; Son, Jason Cunningham of Oak Ridge; Daughter, Lauren Cunningham, a student at UT Knoxville; Step-Daughter, Amber Watson and husband Kevin of Salisbury, NC; Sister-in-law, Ruthie Morris and husband Jackie of Troy, NC; Brother-in-law, Gene Bruton and wife Sheila of Smithfield, NC and 3 grandchildren, Zoe, Keeley and Q. Watson.

Never realized all the times we shared together until his death. Everything from JJHS,church league softball, high school, living in Rockwood with me and Bob Johnson and fishing. Dave was very funny fishing. He was really not much of a fisherman but he was great to fish with. I can still see him standing up in the back of the boat and jerking on his fishing rod because he had 1 of Bob's expensive lures hung up in a tree. I hadn't talked to Dave in many years but I will always remember him as being one of my best friends. I think about his sense of humor often and what a good friend he was to me especially after high school. I miss him and maybe one day we can fish together again.
